Piano 1 is tuned at the normal A440, piano 2 is -25 cents, piano 3 -50 cents, piano 4 -75 cents; this gives the instrumentation 48 tones instead of 12, which divides the microtonality into eighth tones. As a concert piece it would require three of the four pianos to be prepared, or simply use good electric pianos. Most of each part is notated on a single stave for easier score following.
